In last week’s Rotary meeting, Rotary President Russell Clark had the pleasure of introducing Global High School principal Ken Lynch as a special guest.  Mr. Lynch then presented the Global High School Student of the Month Award for January to Lane Womack.

Lane, the son of Albert and Pepper Womack, is a Junior at Waxahachie Global High. He is receiving this award because of his dedication to Interact Activities. Interact is the high school level Rotary organization.

As an active participant in community service, Lane recently attended the Human Rights Symposium at the SMU Plano campus with the Interact Club. His favorite community service event is Hidden Miracles, where students participate in entertaining physically and mentally challenged children while their parents have a night out.

Beyond Interact, Lane is on the A/B honor roll and active in the technology Students Association.  In his free time, Lane enjoys tinkering with electronics and programming.

Upon graduation, Lane plans to attend Texas A&M University where he will study engineering.

It is an honor for Rotary to acknowledge such an outstanding student as Lane Womack with a plaque with his name engraved on it.  This plaque will hang in the halls of Global High School for many years to come.
