Global High Student of the Month for September at Rotary

Each month during the school year Rotary Club of Waxahachie honors students from both Waxahachie High School and Global High School for their outstanding achievements.  It is always with great pleasure that the Rotarians welcome these students who have proven themselves to be good citizens and outstanding students.

Mr. Ken Lynch, principal of Global High, had the honor of introducing Kevin Asirvadam as the Student of the Month for September.  Kevin is the son of Kishore and Alexandra Asirvadam.  He is currently a junior at Global and is honored to be representing his school in such a manner.

Kevin excels academically with a grade point average of 5.958 out of 6.  He has been active in the Interact Club since he got to Global three years ago.  He is receiving this award because he is a great community citizen.

Kevin’s favorite community service work is the Hidden Miracles Respite Night held the first Saturday of each month.  Respite Night is a chance for the caregivers of children with special needs to get a break and some much needed time to themselves.  Kevin is a huge asset there.  He is also involved with the Technical Student Association, UIL, National Honor Society and the year book and prom committees.

In his free time Kevin loves to study geography.  He has traveled to fifteen countries so far.  In the future he intends to be a statistician with a focus on social sciences and work with statistics for the U.S. Census Bureau.

It is an honor for the Rotary Club to acknowledge such an outstanding student and citizen as Kevin Asirvadim.  A plaque with his name on it will hang in the halls of Global High for many years to come.
